THU. 4/7 – ASME was happy to host Dr. Laura Hudy of GE Power, where she is presently the manager of the Equipment Applications Engineering team. She works and has had experience in a variety of different engineering applications coming from Michigan State University. As she shared, Dr. Hudy has conducting research while partnering with NASA before joining the General Electric team.
Thank you to the ASME Senior Section for providing the pizza and refreshments, and for working with the E-board to sponsor the first year of Speaker Series!
MON. 4/11 – Crunch time! The team has been working hard on manufacturing and assembly of the robot, with the Student Design Competition coming up in just a couple of weeks. It’s great to see everything coming together, and we’re looking really looking forward to the trip to the Rutgers!
THU. 3/31 – ASME co-hosted a social with Pi Tau Sigma, RPI’s Mechanical Engineering Honors Society, where we went head-to-head showing off our drawing and acting skills through rousing rounds of Pictionary and Charades. Working with the officers of Pi Tau Sigma, we had an exciting time drawing out clues for words and phrases like “eureka” and “Leonardo DiCaprio” and acting out “Beethoven” and “shipwreck.” Members of both organizations enjoyed the social and appreciated the ice cream that Ben & Jerry’s donated to the event. And I’m happy to say, after several hilarious rounds of each game, ASME did rise above and won overall!
