THURS. 10/26- Three ASME members gave presentations about their internship experience over the previous summer at ASME’s Internhsip Panel. Josh Bostick talked about his time at GE Power, Scott Merrullo spoke about Raytheon, and Frank Charbonier talked about Sandia National Laboratories. Important talking points included their projects, the working environment, finding housing, and how to get an internship. After the presentation, the speakers stayed behind to answer questions.
SAT 10/22 – ASME hosted our the annual Punkin Chunkin event for Parent’s Weekend on ’86 Field. Three teams participated including the ASME team, Sigma Epsilon, and team BDK. Turnout was excellent, despite the torrential rain. Team BDK won with a consistent 90 foot distance.
THURS. 9/29- W. L. Gore & Associates came the night before the career fair to host an information with ASME and BMES (Biomedical Engineering Society). Company representatives gave a presentation about Gore’s different divisions and engineering positions, including their unique process champion approach to product development. Students then broke into groups to ask questions about engineering work, company culture, and the hiring process. Thanks to Gore for coming out and providing pizza.
