THURS. 9/21 – ASME hosted an information session with Gore and Associates Inc. Representatives spoke about the company culture, their three major divisions, locations on the East and West Coast, and hiring opportunities. Students were able to ask questions and talk with recruiters individually. Thanks to Gore for coming to RPI and providing food and beverages.
THURS. 9/15 – Pratt and Whitney, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation, came to RPI to discuss hiring opportunities and talk about the benefits of working at Pratt. The presentation focused on the company’s rotational programs and the success of the gear turbo engine. Thanks to Fred Zwick and co. for attending and for bringing the pizza and refreshments.
FRI. 12/9- ASME members toured a GE Power facility in Schenectady, NY. The tour was split into two groups, one that followed Collin through the steam turbine factory, and another led by Jim by the solar panel array and also the factory. Afterwards, both groups converged for a discussion of different power sources and the future of energy generation in the United States. Thanks to Jim and Collin from GE for setting up and leading the tour.
