THURS. 10/19 – The ASME student section hosted a speaker series with Kris Frutschy, a member of the Mohawk-Hudson Committee for the Senior Section of ASME. Kris discussed his career, spanning Intel, GE Research, and GE power, including his work on chipboards, batteries, and steam turbines. He also gave advice to students on furthering their career as engineers and explained paths for engineers within a company.Kris discusses his educational background.
SAT. 9/30 – ASME Robotics hosted the first of two Designathons for the 2017-2018 season. New and returning members discussed solutions to this year’s challenge, “Robot Football”. The team went over many of the tools for Robotics, including OnShape and Slack. Pizza and refreshments were provided.
THURS. 9/21 – ASME hosted an information session with Gore and Associates Inc. Representatives spoke about the company culture, their three major divisions, locations on the East and West Coast, and hiring opportunities. Students were able to ask questions and talk with recruiters individually. Thanks to Gore for coming to RPI and providing food and beverages.
